Most of us want to go to university but nearly all of us will have different reason for wanting it. Some wants to go into university purely just to gain knowledge and become wiser. Some wants to go there in order to have the glory and fame of telling others “I went to university to you know”. Some just follows the crowd and doesn’t want to be left behind; they just enroll to any course as long they are not left behind feeling lonely. Some struggles themselves into university even though they face financial problems as they see a university degree as a guarantee letter to change their family situation. In some peculiar cases they are forced into university by their parents. The list of reasons doesn't stop here but it goes on and on and on......
No matter what is the reason you are going to university or already in it, but one thing for sure more learning takes place when the classes are over rather than during the class time. What do you mean by learning when the classes are over you might ask. Well you learn from the experiences you share with your friends, the knowledge exchanged with your fellow classmates, the experiences created together with them and many more.
If you say that I’m in there to study and I’m not going to do anything else and learn anything else, trust me it won’t happen. At the time of learning you might not realize the lesson which is learned on that day through your friend or the impact or change they have left behind in your life but one day in your life you will look back smiling and thanking them for what they have done. You might think I’m not special so how can I can leave an impact on others, well that is the mistake that many make. It is not how big the impact is but how much it has affected another person. No one can preplan to leave an impact on others it just happens, what seems trivial to you might be imperative to others. This is because it is not always necessary for someone to go through a situation personally for them to gain experience about it but at some times we can learn from other people’s experience.
Yes, the grades are important that I agree 100% but learning in university doesn’t constitute of your degree subjects alone; it also consist of lessons of life. Take advantage the opportunity to learn from others as each one of us carries around with us lessons of life each different from another. What seems trivial for you might be imperative to others and what seems imperative to you might look trivial to others. If you manage to enrich yourself and equip yourself with the lessons of life as well thrive in your studies then you have fully taken advantage of what the university can give you. If not you will not know what you are missing until you have left the university. So, go out there and learn as much as possible and come out of university not only as a learned man but a man of wisdom who knows the lessons of life. Cautious that you might get hurt while learning the lessons of life and you might even face failures but take them as lessons of life too. I wish you all the best, go out there and explore your university life.
